12/6/2023 0 Comments Muggle with gun vs wizardNowadays, I think it the other way around. Fifty years ago, I would have said that the secrecy of the Wizard world was to protect Muggles from Wizards. Equipped with magic-capable agents trained in Muggle methods, a Muggle-augmented Auror would be a force unlike anything we've ever seen. Muggles are experts at storm tactics that Wizards lack, because of the evolving nature of their technology-based warfare. If Muggles were to ally with the Wizard government to hunt down a dark lord, a la Voldemort, Voldemort would be in a very dire predicament. Snipers are a particular concern, as they operate outside normally operate outside of the Wizards relatively small zone of observation. 50 caliber machine gun that can decimate a human, Wizard or not, at a far more effective rate, range, and with greater accuracy. The killing curse if effective against all targets, but it takes time to cast and is fired about as quickly as a revolver can be. The Muggle capability of precision over long ranges is astounding, as Wizards really don't have much magic that is effective in a combat scenario beyond what they can observe with the naked eye. However, Wizards have virtually no concept of air power or computer-aided weapons. Multi-purpose wands, effective teleportation, and frighteningly powerful magical creatures that may or may not be allies. Wizards have a frightfully outdated and inadequate view of the capabilities of Muggles, although many of the advantages Wizards enjoy are significant force multipliers.
